Moxa's GPRS communication solution is easy and cost-effective
In GPRS communication environments, IP addresses are typically dynamically assigned within the network to mobile devices. IP addresses allocated to mobile GPRS devices are therefore not accessible from outside the GPRS network (e.g., from the Internet) without costly specialized services or infrastructure. With Moxa's ioLogik W5340 Active GPRS I/O and Active OPC Server, the dynamic IP issue can be easily solved. Moxa's Active OPC Server makes it possible to install the ioLogik W5340 in GPRS dynamic IP environments. Installation is a breeze because ioLogik W5340 units will automatically establish communications with an Active OPC Server and all remote Active GPRS I/O devices can be managed with just one centralized Active OPC Server using a fixed IP. Active OPC Servers will receive and register the ioLogik W5340's IP address, and receive tag updates. Application programs can poll data via the Active OPC Server without any additional effort or extra costs associated with IP management.
Benefits of using Active GPRS I/O
- Easy installation saves deployment time and cost when creating a GPRS remote monitoring and alarm system
- Active report function saves bandwidth
- Low power consumption and sleep mode to save power
- Easily integrated with SCADA through Active OPC Server support
